Liberals to Increase taxes on energy

The silver-lining in our current economic troubles is that energy costs are low. However, if the radical Left has its way, they will increase taxes on energy during this recession in order to “save” the planet. Can anyone explain to me how the planet will be saved by increasing taxes on energy? I guess by the same way that a troubled economy from bad loans can be “saved” by more debt.

Obama’s poor foreign policy is going to cause a storm

Appearently, the Obama administration sent a letter to Medeved and Putin indicating that the Missile defence shield would be unnessesary if they helped to neutralize the threat of IRAN.  While the Obama administration denies the notion of bargining with Russia, what Obama did do was something very dangerous and will cause problems for his administration down the line.  He revealed to the Russians that he doesn’t place a high value on the Missile shield.  The Russians said no to Obama now, but what is the next crisis that Obama will table the Missile shield over?  Imagine Russia moving troops into Ukraine and the Obama administration wants to convince the Russians that a cease fire would be in everyones best interest.  How would he convince them of this?  Perhaps, by putting the Missile shield on the chopping block?

Remember this story in a few months when Russia starts kicking up dust.

President Obama commonly refers to “Bush’s failed economic policies” as part of the reason we are having economic difficulty.  I assume he is refering to tax cuts.  No doubt that the Bush administration has some liability in our current economic climate, but was it the tax cuts or deregulation that caused it?  Lets consider Bush’s record and let the data speak for itself:

Dems break the 48 hour promise

Senate Democrats and Republicans agreed to post the “Stimulus” bill on the Internet 48 hours before voting.  The Dems were working on it behind closed doors last night.  They are going to vote on it this morning.  It was not posted to the Internet so the People could review it.
They are crooks.  Meanwhile, in an unrelated story Nancy Pelosi is encouraging a speedy vote on the Bill before her trip to Italy.

Democrats in opposition to Democracy

Is there any component more valuable to democracy than the “secret ballot”?  Through EFCA (Employee Free Choice Act) the Democrats want to restrict unionized workers from the right to a secret ballot.  This opens a host of problems for the worker including intimidation from both employer and union boss.  Let’s not forget that the Democrats are the “party for the little people”, the worker…right?

Wait a minute…Barak Obama?  The Obama administration was promised to us as an administration where special interest would not have a seat at the table.
